A Winter Wedding at The Midnight Gem

When Kristen reached out to me in January about their upcoming March wedding I was thrilled to be part of their special day! 12 years in the making, Kristen & Mahdi were finally tying the knot. Mahdi’s family joined us via zoom at The Midnight Gem from Tunisian and in their honor we enjoyed some tea and treats during their reception.

Since Mahdi has arrived in America and adapted to the American culture they have made many lifelong memories including his first time on a plane, landing in Minneapolis and trying to convince him that in certain places it snows constantly so that’s where they put the ski resorts, him walking a mile to Scooters for coffee in the first blizzard, not wearing pants under his snow pants, and just so many other cultural things that we wouldn’t really even think about and more that are to come!

When Kristen had a first look with her grandpa we were all shedding tears. Especially when she showed him that she was wearing her late grandma’s perfume. My favorite part of the day was when Mahdi and Kristen had a snowball fight. What a beautiful way to kick off wedding season for us with this intimate celebration.
